    What does Fact Protocol do?

Fact Protocol (FACT) is a community-governed web3 protocol (public good) designed to combat fake news, misinformation, and disinformation by aggregating fact-checks from trusted sources around the world and re-validate them to increase trust and re-distribute them to amplify the reach. Our mission is to promote truth, accuracy, and transparency in the media, and to empower people with the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions. With blockchain and other advanced technologies such as AI and Deep-learning, we aim to create a safer and more trustworthy online environment for everyone. Our platforms, applications, and tools provide a comprehensive and reliable source of fact-checks that can help people distinguish between fact and fiction, and make informed judgments about the information they consume.

At FACT, we believe in the power of collaboration and community governance. That is why we work closely with trusted fact-checkers, advocates, and users/communities (refer to the whitepaper) from around the world to ensure that the protocol is always reliable, accurate, and unbiased. Together, we can fight back against fake news and disinformation, and create more informed and enlightened societies. We aim to achieve it through FACT DAO.

    Is Fact Protocol Environmentally Sustainable?

At FACT, we are committed to building a sustainable and environmentally friendly ecosystem for our users and the planet. To achieve this goal, we are utilizing a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) protocol, which allows us to process transactions quickly and efficiently, while also reducing our carbon footprint. Compared to the traditional Proof-of-Work (PoW) mechanism used by many other blockchain platforms, the PoS protocol emits significantly less CO2 for processing each transaction. This means that we can provide a high-performance and low-cost platform without compromising the health of our planet.

Our design philosophy also ensures that we maintain a net-zero environmental impact. We will never pursue any strategies or plans that could harm the environment, whether on land, in the air or underwater. With Fact Protocol, you can trust that your transactions are not only fast, secure, and reliable, but also environmentally responsible.
